Annual Trackstar awards take centre stage in King's Lynn

The annual Trackstar awards night took place at Lynn last weekend where the nation's top stock car and banger drivers were recognised.

Following some great performances, it was no surprise to see some West Norfolk-based drivers take home plenty of silverware.

There was plenty to cheer for the Bowman family.

Keiran rounded off a fantastic 2018 season by winning the Entertainer League for National Bangers and also finished in sixth place in the National Points.

Younger brother Bradley was voted Newcomer of the Year by his fellow drivers.

Lynn’s Russell Gill secured a great ninth place finish in the Entertainer League whilst Ben Green was rewarded for an excellent runner-up finish in the White and Yellow Series for the National Bangers and was left to reflect on his best ever season.

Despite not having the backing of other members of Team Jackpot, Swaffham’s Ashley Garrod finished the National Points in fourth spot.

Both Gill and Green also picked up Merit Awards in recognition of their great efforts throughout the year.

There was also success for the “Stars of the Future” in the shape of the Junior Bangers where Harry Cobb and Robbie Dillon received Merit Awards.

Their achievements were also recognised by their peers with Cobb being voted the most dedicated driver in the formula by a nationwide poll of Junior Banger drivers and Dillon being voted newcomer of the year. Much is expected of these two young guns in 2019.
