King's Lynn Speedway boss dealing with dual demands ahead of 2022 season

King’s Lynn Stars team boss Alex Brady says he is working out the dual demands of sponsor and team manager.

Minors & Brady Norfolk-based estate agents came on board as main sponsor two years ago while its managing director Brady himself became manager of the Lynn speedway one-to-seven midway through last season.

Brady said about juggling these roles: “We are in discussions as a club to work out the best way forward with that but Minors and Brady will still be a part of the club regardless of how it goes forward.

“It was something I was quite honoured with when I spoke to Buster (club owner Keith Chapman) when I was asked back in 2020 to be the main team sponsor at the time.

“The two things go hand in hand. Buster was I think on the record at the time saying he only wanted to work with a brand or a business that represented King’s Lynn’s values, as much as we as the main sponsor of the club represent our values.

“He could have probably got money from other people but it’s worked hand in hand for us.

“We’ve created some business from it as well and yes, it’s something that we’re here for in the long term, as long as the club want us.”

Due to a season of struggle, TV coverage was scant after Eurosport visited every Premiership track but Brady hopes 2022 will see a more successful campaign and the cameras more of a fixture as a result, especially if Lynn reach the end of season autumn play-offs.

He added at a press gathering in front of fans: “We’re backed up nicely by the local press and social media is massive for us and has worked wonders for us as a business.

“Obviously it was a disappointment we weren’t on Eurosport a little more but we’ll do better next season and I’m sure we’ll be on there a few more times – and hopefully into September and October as well.”
