Renegade Runners members travel to Woodhall Spa for 10k
A busy weekend of action for Renegade Runners saw three members travel to Woodhall Spa for the 10k and a late starting time of 11.15am.
Although the temperatures and wind were high on a testing course, Matt Pyatt, in a very competitive race, finished in 34.53 and eighth overall out of the 1,100 finishers. He was first in the M40 category, beating last year’s winner by more than 30 seconds.
Irena Marcinek had a successful run, running 48.54 for fifth F40, while Charlie Pyatt toughed out another 10k to finish in 1.23.35.
At Bamburgh Castle in Northumberland, Cheryl Brown ran a hilly 10k well to finish in 56.42 for 10th F50.
At the Flaming June half marathon, in Histon, Helen Driver was delighted with her 2.33 time on such a tough day to run 13.1 miles.
At a hot airfield in Coltishall, Renegade Rockets started the day with a 2k fun run prior to the 10k race. Lola Kidman was third girl and 12th overall, followed by Thomas Elsdon finishing in the top 20. Other good runs came from Henry Gosnell, Esmie Kidman and Aidan Howard.
In the main race, Jimmy Hornigold found the heat tough but never surrendered and finished in 70 minutes.
Closer to home, the majority of Renegade Rockets and more senior members had a great morning taking over all the volunteering roles at the Lynn junior parkrun for a second time.
