Castle Rising romp home in derby clash against Sandringham
Norfolk Cricket League
Robert Wilson smashed 126 off 56 balls as Castle Rising romped home in their Division One West derby clash at Sandringham.
Rising opener Wilson's knock included 14 fours and nine maximums as the visitors chased down their 182 target inside 20 overs.
He received valuable support from Olly Denton (29) with Sandringham's Richard Hurst and Shaun Felgate the only two bowlers to pick up wickets.
Earlier, Hurst (47) and Bradley Tennant (66 from 54 balls) left Sandringham well-placed at one stage before the wicket of Hurst sparked a late batting collapse.
After finding themselves at 160-3, the hosts lost their last seven wickets for just 21 runs.
The duo of Matt Taylor (9.5-2-24-3), Sunil Anthrayose (7.0-0-13-3) and Denton (4.0-1-20-2) did the damage with the ball to deny Sandringham the chance to build a really big score.
Elsewhere, Castle Acre are the early pacesetters in the 1W standings, Steven Piper (65) spearheading their second maximum points win against Felthorpe.
In Division 3W, North Elmham lead the way from Aylsham St Giles, James Tuthill scoring an unbeaten 113 for Aylsham, with Ollie Southgate hitting an undefeated 87 in reply for Dersingham.
Division 4W sees Hingham A leading the way from Narborough A, who triumphed over Hardingham A by five wickets.
The division also saw the closest game of the afternoon as Castle Rising A fell just 14 runs short of their victory target against Downham Stow C.
Downham Stow's Sivarupan Selvanayagam proved the difference on the afternoon, scoring 32 in a total of 132-9 before claiming three scalps in the Castle Rising reply.
