King’s Lynn Stars face key back-to-back fixtures against reigning Elite League champions Poole as they aim to bolster their play-off bid.
The Stars host the Pirates at the Adrian Flux Arena tomorrow (Thursday, Aug 11) but first they face the tough trip to Wimborne Road tonight (Wednesday).
King’s Lynn promoter Keith Chapman says it’s important for his side to start getting some points on the board.
Said Chapman: “While it’s still mathematically possible, we will give it everything we’ve got to try and sneak in to those top four places.
“We’ve got a significant number of meetings in hand and our destiny is also in our own hands I guess!
“We’d be happy to get any sort of result down at Poole but we will be keen to get a win at home on Thursday whether we win, lose or draw at Wimborne Road.”
The Stars have drafted in three time British Champion Chris Harris to deputise for No.1 Niels-Kristian Iversen who misses the trip to Poole due to commitments in his home country Denmark.
Meanwhile, with Simon Lambert still sidelined through injury, former Poole rider Kyle Howarth will step in at reserve and squad member Kai Huckenbeck returns to the Stars line-up too.
Poole: Chris Holder, Adam Ellis, Krzysztof Buczkowski, Brady Kurtz, Hans Andersen, Bjarne Pedersen, Kyle Newman.
Lynn: Chris Harris, Kai Huckenbeck, Robert Lambert, Rory Schlein, Troy Batchelor, Kyle Howarth, Lewis Rose.
