King’s Lynn club has two boxers take to the ring at Boston show

King's Lynn Youth Boxing Club had two fighters in action on the Boston open show at the weekend.

First up in the ring was Bobby Mitchell, who took on Ilia Pertnikous from Boston ABC, in his first bout of the season.

Mitchell came out well in the first round, delivering some great shots with either hand.

A slight lapse saw him drop his left hand and his opponent took advantage as the referee gave the Lynn fighter a standing count.

In the second round, Mitchell came out more determined and was ahead before a long-range punch caught him and resulted in another count.

Mitchell felt fine but the referee decided to call a halt to the contest.

Up next was girl Courtney McGregor against Wolverhampton's Charmaine Ali.

This was McGregor's first bout of the season and she came out strong, catching her opponent with some long straight shots on target.

She continued to step it up and outbox Ali in the remaining two rounds as got into an excellent rhythm.

Her dominance led to a unanimous points win.

King's Lynn Youth Boxing Club is based at Heros Gym on the North Lynn Industrial Estate and always welcomes any new youngsters to join in the various training sessions.
