King’s Lynn Stars' Dersingham rider Lewis Kerr and team-mate Richard Lawson reflect upon Premiership victory vs Peterborough
As King’s Lynn Stars prepare to visit Ipswich on Thursday, former Witches rider Lewis Kerr reflected upon Monday's derby victory over Peterborough.
The Dersingham speedway ace bagged a paid maximum as the Minors & Brady Stars recorded back-to-back Premiership home wins, 51-39, at the Adrian Flux Arena.
The Stars had already defeated the Panthers twice in the league cup, and added this home Premiership triumph.
Kerr, with 11+1 points, was involved in all four 5-1 home maximum results.
Kerr, known as Lewi, said: "I'm over the moon. I had a good weekend and I tried to carry it on into tonight, so I'm well happy."
Danish veteran for the away side, Ulrich Ostergaard, got Kerr's night off with a bang by careering into the West Norfolk rider.
"I don't know what to say. He just came out of nowhere. I came in quite hard but he caught me."
Kerr admitted the incident helped to fire him up after the frustration of not starting the season for Lynn as well as he would have liked: "Ulrich is a good friend. I've just done a few tweaks to the bike."
Lynn team-mate Richard Lawson, who helped Kerr with three maximums together, said: "The scoreline flattered them. We were better than the score suggested. It was an all-round good team performance and I'm happy.
"I've invested in a new engine and my knee is a lot better now. (Engine tuner) Peter Johns knows what I like by now.
"Last week I used it for the first time and took me a few rides to get used to it."
