King's Lynn Golf Club hole-in-ones on same day by Ron Laing and Gary Hillier

Two hole-in-ones on the same day saw a phenomenon at Lynn Golf Club.

The Peatling Cup competition and medal was in full swing with a busy course on a fair, sunny day.

On the fifth tee, Lynn member Ron Laing achieved his first-ever ace with an eight-iron and, with one hop, the ball rolled to the green and straight in.

Not to be outdone, fellow team member Gary Hillier was still sharing in the excitement of Laing’s fantastic shot as he approached the 16th tee.

Hillier took a shot and didn’t think it was anything special but, as he watched the ball turn, it made its way straight into the hole.

This was a second ace of the season for Hillier, who had previously hit his first earlier in the year.

Not only were there two hole-in-ones on the same day from two members playing in the same team, they came whilst taking part in a competition. Alan Nuttall went on to win the Peatling Cup and Matthew Bowman was winner of the medal.
