LEARN MOREA West Norfolk judo club had a surprise visit from a man dubbed the greatest British judoka of all time.
Neil Adams, a double Olympic silver medallist, dropped in on Happidojo club based at RAF Marham last Thursday night.
Mr Adams, 9th Dan, is a former world champion, four-times world medallist, five-times European champion and 21-times British champion.
Colin McCallum, head coach, said: “Neil is the voice of international judo, commentating at the Olympics and all major events.
“He is unbelievably busy and teaches judo all over the world.
“He decided to pop into our little club at Marham as part of his ‘expect the unexpected tour’ where he turns up unannounced to run a session and meet the players. To say this was a shock is an understatement!
“He spent time with the club coaches, signed autographs and had many pictures taken with the players etc.
“This was simply an amazing opportunity for the kids and coaches to meet the very best in Britain.”
