King’s Lynn stock car scene honours the life of Paul Butler at memorial meeting
The Adrian Flux Arena roared to life in an unforgettable tribute to former King’s Lynn promoter Paul Butler recently.
In honour of the man who helped shape the sport, more than 140 Unlimited Bangers packed the pits, transforming the evening into a breathtaking spectacle of destruction and unity.
From the opening lap to the final clash of steel, the event was less about points and more about pure, unfiltered entertainment.
The races - if they could be called that - were relentless, with many ending in a heap of twisted metal and only a handful of cars limping across the finish line.
The electric atmosphere and non-stop action had fans labelling it the “meeting of the year.”
Among the highlights was 178 Kieran Bowman, who claimed victory in his first race of the night before his engine blew as he crossed the finish line.
Though his night ended early, his car and performance left a lasting impression.
Also turning heads were the Cooper brothers - 602 Shaun and 604 Ross - who threw themselves into the fray.
Shaun’s efforts earned him fifth place in the Entertainer League, a testament to his fearless driving.
One of the most memorable moments came courtesy of 479 Joel Allen, who brought a massive limousine to the track.
Allen didn’t hold back, using every inch of the oversized machine until it was nearly torn in half.
His daring display earned him ninth in the Entertainer League and a cheer from the crowd.
Though the night was chaotic, it was a fitting tribute to Paul Butler, a celebration of the passion, showmanship, and spirit he brought to the sport during his time as a promoter.
For many, it was more than just a race night. It was a memory that will live long in King’s Lynn folklore.
This weekend, stock car Saturday storms into Lynn with a triple-header lineup guaranteed to keep spectators on the edge of their seats.
