Richard Dickson and Martin Sheldrick take on the Cambridge Half-Marathon
West Norfolk Athletic Club have welcomed masters athlete newcomers Richard Dickson and Martin Sheldrick to the fold.
These guys are no strangers to endurance running with plenty of parkrun and 10k half-marathons under their belts.
Having recently changed clubs, last weekend’s Cambridge half-marathon was their first big test as West Norfolk athletes.
The Cambridge race had 10,000 participants, a mix of charity and club runners on a truly unforgettable journey through the beautiful city of Cambridge, passing countless historic landmarks along the way.
The 13-miler is a big test for anyone and both athletes rose to the challenge.
Martin was the first of the West Norfolk pair to finish in a fantastic 239th place in a time of 1hr 24.23 seconds, just one minute off his personal best time.
Dickson came in 1,430th place in 1hour 39mins 48sec, approximately eight minutes off his best time, although he has had a number of injuries over the last year or so and has only just began to run competitively again.
If like Sheldrick and Dickson you want to run competitively or just for fun, maybe run, jump or throw in track and field, any age young or old, get in contact with West Norfolk Athletic Club, based in Lynn, via the website at: www.westnorfolkac.co.uk/
