Fakenham Town beat Harleston; Downham Town triumph at home to Hadleigh while Heacham draw with Kirkley and Pakefield and Swaffham Town are beaten at Harwich and Parkeston




Fakenham Town and Downham Town both tasted victory in the Thurlow Nunn Premier Division this afternoon while Heacham drew and Swaffham Town were beaten in the First Division North.

The Ghosts remain two points clear at the summit thanks to Jale Watts' 27th goal of the season in a 1-0 win at Harleston Town.

Watts headed home a Joe Keeley cross for the only goal of the game eight minutes into the second half.

Fakenham Town are back in action next Saturday when they host Woodbridge Town at the Daly Group Stadium.

Downham Town moved into the top five after a 2-0 victory over Hadleigh United at the Memorial Field.

Eion McQuaid and Lagshan Snakumar combined to force Hadleigh into an own goal after eight minutes before McQuaid added a second with a neat finish two minutes after the restart.

Next weekend, Downham Town travel to Thetford Town for a fourth versus fifth clash in the top flight.

Heacham Town were forced to settle for a share of the spoils at home to Kirkley and Pakefield - but only had themselves to blame for missing a second-half penalty.

Colby Wood's opener for the Magpies was cancelled by the visitors going into the break.

Toby Hilliard fluffed his lines from the spot in the second half for Heacham who also had Ben Dear sent off in an eventful second period.

Next weekend, Heacham travel to Yarmouth Town.

Swaffham Town's Thurlow Nunn League future suffered another blow with a 3-0 reverse to Harwich & Parkeston.

The Pedlars - with one league win to their name in 17 attempts - find themselves nine points adrift in the First Division North relegation zone.

The rock-bottom Pedlars are back in action next Saturday when they entertain Dussindale & Hellesdon Rovers.
