More than 4,000 bike fans flocked to Lynn’s Adrian Flux Arena at the weekend for the annual Dirt Quake – one of the highlights of the year for alternative biking.
Competitors and fans came from as far-a-field as France, Belgium, Italy, Switzerland, Spain and the USA to take part in the event, which took place on Friday night and the Saturday.
Organiser Gary Inman said: “The whole event went very, very well. We were very lucky with the weather and had some good feedback from everyone.”
Special guest competitors included Charley Boorman, probably best known for Long Way Down with Ewen McGregor, and TV presenter and motorcyclist Guy Martin, who presents Speed with Guy Martin on Channel 4 and who has 15 Isle of Man TT podium finishes to his name. Both Boorman and Martin gained podium places in their respective classes on the Saddlebow Road circuit, which is more famed for it’s big speedway and stock car
Among the bikes in action were Harley Davidsons and classic Triumphs, which competed on the arena’s oval circuit along with scooters and tiny monkey bikes.
