Linnets boss Gary Setchell is set to take disciplinary action against Dan Quigley following his no-show against Stourbridge on Saturday.

Quigley failed to turn up for the 3-0 defeat and Setchell has vowed to take the appropriate action against the midfielder.

An angry Setchell said: “Admittedly Dan Quigley not turning up hasn’t helped us. He just hasn’t arrived and hasn’t called anyone and it has put a real spanner in the works.

“He has let me, the players, the football club and all of the fans down and it’s not the first time it has happened.

“He didn’t turn up at Ramsbottom and said he was stuck in traffic, and it has happened again today.

“I’m not sure what I’m going to do with him. I need to get to the bottom of it, but he will be dealt with.”

Lynn have now failed to win on the road since the opening day of the season. Lynn’s league record against Stourbridge was already poor and they failed to score for the eighth time at Amblecote.

Already without the suspended Gregg Smith, Lynn’s preparations were not helped with Ryan Fryatt being taken unwell on the trip and Quigley not arriving at the ground.

Things got worse when the Glassboys went ahead on seven minutes.

Will Richards eluded his marker in the penalty area to get on the end of George Bowerman’s corner to score via the body of Alex Street.

Lynn had plenty of possession but had little show for it in terms of efforts on goal, perhaps missing the aerial power of Smith.

Jackson Ramm and Michael Frew had the best of Lynn’s first-half efforts but in stoppage time the hosts went further ahead when Bowerman got on the wrong side of Jordan Yong and rounded Street to double the lead.

Stourbridge completed the scoring on 63 minutes through Josh Morgan-Parker who got the better of Henry Eze to lob Street from ten yards.

Lynn tried to get a consolation with a David Bell long range-effort being tipped away and Steve Spriggs shooting over from the resulting corner.

On the first two goals conceded, Setchell said: “Their first goal came from a set-piece where we have lost their player in the box, which is criminal.

“We then had some good possession of the ball.

“We kick it through to their keeper, he punts it down the field, it bounces twice and six seconds later it is in the back of our net, and that doesn’t happen at under-14 level.

“I still felt at 2-0 there was a way back but we’ve made three defensive errors today and it has cost us three goals.”
