Novus North West Norfolk League
The Woottons Res 0 Denver 6
Three goals in six minutes midway through the opening half set Denver on their way as they sent Woottons crashing to their first home defeat of the season.
PKS Construction/Morris Armitage Denver MoM Danny Brooks opened the away side’s account from the penalty spot and Aidan Hood notched the next two before Jamie Plummer made it 4-0 at the break when he scored his third goal in four games since signing from Birchwood.
Hood completed his hat-trick two minutes into the second half with his 10th goal of the season and Brooks slotted home his second penalty after 75 minutes to complete a flattering scoreline.
Dersingham Rovers 0 Brandon 2
This match between the two top teams in the league produced a superb game.
It wasn’t until the end of a tight first half that Rovers had the chance to take the lead with Welch just missing. However, the away side broke and took the lead to go in at half-time 1-0 up.
The second half turned out to be very physical but fair from both sides with crunching tackles going in. With five minutes to go and Rovers pressing forward in search of the equaliser they were caught out and Brandon secured the points.
Rovers can hold their heads up high and be proud of their performance against a very good Brandon side considering they had to shuffle their team around due to late call offs.
Rossiters man of the match: Connor Kenny, stepped in at the last minute and was outstanding with no signs of jet lag.
