Two local sides tasted success in the Norfolk Senior Cup.
It took two Jack Redhead penalties to see off Hempnall in a physical game which ended with two red cards for Hempnall.
The visitors took the lead in the 21st minute, following intense pressure by Swaffham.
It took until the 74th minute for the balance to be restored. Mark Allibone was brought down in the box, and Redhead was clinical from the spot.
The winner came on the stroke of time, a handball leading to a second penalty.
Before it could be taken came the moment of madness when Roy Bevis headbutted Mark Allibone and seconds later Zac Bevis punched Swaffham’s number eight, George Hutton.
Tonight Diss Town visit Shoemakers Lane in the Thurlow Nunn League Cup, kick off 7.45pm.
There was also success for Mark Reeve’s Downham Town, as the Memorial Field outfit recorded a 1-0 victory over a resilient Holt United side.
n Swaffham Reserves’ Billy Russell got a consolation goal in their 3-1 defeat at Fakenham Town Reserves.
Next Saturday they return to the County Junior Cup, Long Stratton Reserves being the visitors, kick-off 3pm.
The Under 18’s were successful in their Youth League Cup against North Walsham Youth, Josh Thurston, Ahmed Rhaouti and Dylan Edge finding the net for the Pedlars.
Tomorrow they travel to Soham Town Rangers.
The Veterans bowed out of the County Cup with a 3-0 defeat to Norwich Dog House.
Next Sunday they are away to Harts.
On Thursday the Hospital Cup will commence, Sporle taking on Gayton in the first quarter-final, 7.30pm kick-off.
