The first step was taken on the Road to Wembley this morning as the early round draws were made for all of the major FA competitions.

King’s Lynn Town will travel to either Belper Town or Market Drayton Town in the First Qualifying Round of the FA Trophy, on October 31.

Lynn played Market Drayton in the same round of the competition last season, winning 5-1 at The Walks in a replay following a 2-2 draw.

Belper were relegated from the NPL Premier Division last season - Lynn drawing 3-3 on their visit to Christchurch Meadow in September.

There were also some cracking draws for both Swaffham Town and Downham Town.

In the FA Cup, Swaffham Town will host Thetford in the Extra Preliminary Round on August 15, with the winners entertaining Bury Town a fornight later.

Fakenham Town will host Huntingdon Town at the Extra Preliminary stage with the victors making a tough trip to Wroxham next.

In the FA Vase, Downham Town, back in the competition, will entertain Huntingdon Town in the First Qualifying Round on September 5, with another home draw against either Peterborough Sports or Sleaford Town awaiting the winners on October 3.

Both Swaffham and Fakenham Town come in at the Second Qualifying Round stage.

The Pedlars will host Bourne Town on October 3, with the Ghosts travelling to Eynesbury Rovers.
