Fakenham Town returned to winning ways with a five-star display against Saffron Walden at Clipbush Park.

Josh Youngs, Shane Akers, Ashley Jarvis (2) and Joel Glover were all on target as the Ghosts claimed their first win in seven in all competitions.

The victory all but confirms Fakenham’s Premier Division place for next season.

An early second-half brace from Nick Castellan sealed victory for the Pedlars who had Joe Jackson back in their side following his transfer from Fakenham Town late last week.

Manager Robbie Back is expected to welcome back Eoin McQuaid and Ryan Lennon, while Ryan Hawkins is expected to feature for the side on his return from injury.

The result leaves Downham sitting 12th in the Division One standings.

Tonight, Downham will look to return to winning ways when they entertain Woodbridge Town at the Memorial Field.
