Anglian Combination Division Three

Redgate Rangers 10 Swaffham Town Res 1

Redgate started their 2015/16 season with a emphatic win over Swaffham.

Danny Jezeph scored from a well delivered corner, that settled all the early nerves.

Swaffham then had a good spell and a well worked goal got them the equaliser on 35 minutes.

Dean Twaite-Smith then put Redgate straight back in front with a fantastic move. Mark Sainty then made it 3-1 on the stroke of half time.

Swaffham had a goal ruled out and hit the post they were made to pay with Danny Jezeph running riot with five second half goals all with a bit of class and well worked moves by the team.

Ben Swales and debutant Billy Eastwood, who has never played in the Anglian Combination, got well deserved goals.

Next up is tomorrow (Wednesday 19) night at home v Fakenham Town Res (6.30pm kick off).

Mattishall 0 Dersingham 3

Rovers opened their season with a trip to mattishall on a Friday night.

The new look Rovers opened their season on Friday and took the lead when good link up play between Nelson Moriera and Joe Collison ended with a neat finish from Collison. Some heroic defending, especially from MoM Lee Hyde, meant Rovers led 1-0 at half-time.

The second half was all Rovers. Jack Johnson scored a brilliant solo goal beating three defenders and slotting it by the keeper. Johnson got his second after a defending error.

Dersingham’s first Saturday home match is on September 19, 2pm KO, in the Mummery Cup against Wroxham Reserves.

Feltwell United 3 Dersingham Reserves 4

Dersingham recovered from being 2-0 down, and they were awarded a penalty, only for Peter Sinclair to miss.

Minutes later Burgess pulled a goal back after a good ball from Cook. This time burgess was the supplier and Wood smashed it in. Cook then put Dersingham 3-2 up just before half time.

Wingfield’s long throw was headed home by Wood. Dersingham lost assistant manager, 54-year-old Nipper Pearman, to a red card after conceding a penalty which Feltwell scored.

MoM: Andrew Wood on debut.
