King’s Lynn Town FC travel to high-flying Cirencester tomorrow having completed the signing of striker Toby Hilliard.
Hilliard (pictured) arrives at The Walks with Lynn having scored just one goal in their opening four league fixtures.
On Hilliard’s arrival, manager Gary Setchell told the club’s website: “Toby is a King’s Lynn lad and was very keen to come to The Walks and show us what he can do.
“He gives us options in a variety of forward positions.”
Heacham-based Hilliard, 19, arrives at Lynn from Dereham Town. The frontman had been lined up to go play football in America for Tyler Junior College.
Three days before flying out he was told that he was ineligible to play for them because he had played against semi-pro teams and players since turning 19 which, apparently, is against the college’s rules.
Hilliard scored against Lynn in the 3-1 pre-season friendly defeat last season, having assisted with the two other goals.
He has previously played for Swaffham Town and while at Shoemakers Lane he was selected to play for England Colleges.
Lynn will be hoping that defender Jordan Yong returns from injury for the trip to the second-placed outfit.
