Halesowen Town 1 King’s Lynn Town 1
The Linnets let a lead slip on Tuesday night as Chris Lait’s equaliser rescued a late point for Halesowen.
Gary Setchell’s side dominated the first half before letting the hosts back into proceedings in the second period.
Lynn’s David Bridges saw an early shot flash wide, while Sam Mulready saw his shot blocked and another effort cleared off the line by Halesowen defender Joel Kettle.
It came as no surprise when Lynn took the lead in the 19th minute. George Thomson’s incisive ball over the top found Michael Frew who lobbed home goalkeeper Sargeant with ease.
Ten minutes before the interval, David Bell’s corner caused panic in the home defence and Thomson’s shot was scrambled off the line.
The ball eventually fell to former Yeltz defender Henry Eze but he hooked the rebound wide of the home goal.
After the break, Lait’s cross saw his delivery cleared and a free-kick loop into the arms of goalkeeper Alex Street.
Curtis Tilt then found space in a crowded penalty area but planted his free header from Thompson-Brown’s corner wide.
Three minutes from time, Tilt played in Lait to turn inside his marker and unleash a low shot, which took a slight deflection off Linnets defender Jackson Ramm, before finding the back of the net.
There was still time for the Linnets to almost snatch a last-gasp winner when substitute Steve Spriggs volleyed over the bar with two minutes remaining.
