Linnets set to lose Jones after Yeltz approach

Have your say

King’s Lynn Town FC boss Gary Setchell is resigned to losing a player following an approach from one of their Evo-Stik League rivals.

Lynn last week had lost leading scorer George Thomson who has fulfilled his dream of full-time football by moving to Chester.

After Saturday’s draw for the Linnets at Grantham it was announced that Jake Jones (pictured) is the subject of a seven-day approach by Halesowen Town.

“It has been a very difficult week for us,” said Setchell after news of the approach by the Yeltz.

“We lost George (Thomson) and it looks like we might lose Jonesy now as Halesowen have put seven days in for him.

“He is going to speak to them as the travelling is killing him. We are doing everything we can to keep him and I’m going to have to bring two or three players in to freshen things up very quickly.”

Lynn have not won away in the league since August following their 3-3 result at Grantham (see page 47).
