Midfield player Bridges’ leg injury not a break for relieved Linnets

Have your say

A leg injury suffered by King’s Lynn Town FC midfielder David Bridges is not as bad as first thought.

The influential player was carried off as the Linnets came from behind to record only their second Evo-Stik League Premier Division away win of the season at Marine on Saturday.

Bridges took to social media on Sunday night to ease the fears of Lynn supporters after spending the previous evening in hospital.

Speaking on Twitter, Bridges – who received lengthy treatment – said: “Thanks for all the messages of concern guys. The fact I had no means of communication in hospital meant there was a lot of worry.

“I’m ok and will be back playing soon.”

On Saturday night, Linnets boss Gary Setchell had tweeted: “Quick note on @DBProTraining. He had X-ray, no break, but has internal bleeding and will remain in hospital overnight.”

A few hours later, Setchell followed up his initial Tweet by saying: “Just spoke with @DBProTraining and although in a lot of pain will be coming home today.”
