Reigning champions England’s Hope had a testing opening day away at CSKA FC and ground out a solid 2-1 win.

Clenchwarton, bottom last year, started this year with an impressive 3-4 away win over Division One new boys Sutton St. James. Sutton are considered dark-horses this season and raced into a two-goal lead courtesy of Ryan Lennon and goal machine Jake Clitheroe. An own goal followed by a Chris Scammel effort brought Victory level. Sutton again pulled in front via Nathan Daw, before Adam Mason equalised for a second time. Scammel notched his second, and Victory’s winner.

CSKA Young Boys started well in their first-ever game, going 3-0 up through Jake Hodkinson twice and Brad Sheldrake.

However MacMillan FC had an even better first ever game, smashing in seven goals of their own, winning 7-3.

Ricky Melton 5, Ian Bootie and Aaron Moore got the goals.

Another two new sides, Necton and Three Holes, smashed in 10 goals between them, and walked away with a point each.
