Saffron Walden 3

King’s Lynn Reserves 1

All of the goals came in the second half as Lynn suffered their fourth defeat of the league campaign.

An unstoppable free-kick gave the hosts the lead and, although Liam Fryatt pulled a goal back after the Essex side had added a dubious second, Saffron Walden completed victory with virtually the last kick.

Assistant Reserves boss Ross McNeil said: “We played really well and worked hard against a really good side.

“Joff (Jonathan Hawes) and myself think they are the best side we’ve played this season. Their reaction after they scored the third was a compliment to how well we performed.”

Lynn Reserves are in League Cup action tonight with a trip to current holders Newmarket Town. The Jockeys are currently sixth in the Premier Division.
