Both the Ghosts and the Pedlars bowed out of the FA Cup to Lincolnshire sides.

Fakenham Town lost 1-0 to a first-half Sleaford Town free header from a corner at Clipbush Park on Saturday, while Swaffham went down 4-1 at Holbeach United.

Holbeach went ahead in the 16th minute, the Pedlars finding it difficult to settle.

The second half went all Swaffham’s way but the final effort failed to hit the mark, the Holbeach keeper being gifted shots close to the body.

The Tigers netted in the 70th, 72nd and 77th minutes. Captain Mikey Thompson was replaced by Mark Allibone in the 78th minute, and the Pedlars hope Thompson can shrug off his injury for the weekend.

A consolation came for Swaffham in the last minute, Alex Vincent played through by Jake Platten to slot into the right hand side bottom corner.

Swaffham Town FC thank their sponsors, especially the Conservative Club for their valued support. The U18’s entertain Fakenham on Thursday, 7.45pm.

Downham Town finished goalless at Cornard in their Thurlow Nunn League Division One opener. Tonight Downham travel to Diss Tn and tomorrow in the Premier Division, Fakenham host Great Yarmouth Town.
