Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division

Stanway Rovers 2

Swaffham Town 1

A tough week for the Pedlars, who had fixtures against the top two in the league within five days.

Respectable second half performances led to no reward.

Last Tuesday evening, visitors Norwich United took an early two-goal lead. At half-time, the referee was injured and a replacement assistant found to continue the fixture, the second occasion that this has occured with the Pedlars.

Saturday saw a similar picture, this time away at the Hawthorns, to Stanway Rovers. The home side had a two-goal advantage after 18 minutes, Alex Vincent getting a vital goal back with 11 minutes remaining. Fantastic play to put the Stanway defence under the cosh, Vincent lashed home from 12 yards a loose ball after a block from a Joe Jackson shot.

An all important midweek fixture tomorrow, as the Pedlars travel to Walsham-Le Willows, each team desperate to clinch the points to aid their Premier survival.

The Under 18’s tomorrow in the Thurlow Nunn Youth Cup travel to Lynn.

Fakenham Town 1

Ipswich Wanderers 1

A hotly-disputed last minute penalty for Ipswich Wanderers took away a point from the Ghosts at Clipbush Park.

Ghosts goalscorer was Sam Garner following good work from Ricky Claxton.

Downham Town went down 3-2 at home to Great Yarmouth Town in Division One.
