Only one game was on at the weekend due to the poor weather, writes Rob Bunting.

Ahead of their monumental clash in the Sunday Senior Cup next weekend, Chilvers and England’s Hope both had away fixtures, in what were the only games scheduled.

England’s Hope’s game away at Burt FC fell victim to a frozen pitch, but Chilvers’ game away at CSKA Emneth went ahead, thanks largely to the 4G pitch.

A close fought game at the Thomas Clarkson Academy saw CSKA and Chilvers blow off the Christmas cobwebs and Chilvers edged home 2-1, thanks to Arron Proctor and James Tricks.

Chilvers held on for the win, despite some late pressure from CSKA for an equaliser. Max Mattless scored CSKA’s consolation.

This coming Sunday sees Chilvers host England’s Hope in the Norfolk Sunday Senior Cup Quarter Final at River Lane.

There is sure to be a large crowd for this game so come on down to River Lane (10.30am KO) and see the best of Sunday football as they compete for a semi-final spot.
