Heacham hit top spot in First Division North of Thurlow Nunn League
Four-some Heacham moved to the top of the Thurlow Nunn League First Division North standings with an emphatic display at the Heacham Sports Field this afternoon.
The Magpies were forced to come from behind before clinching their latest with three points thanks to two goals each for Luke Gray and Fletcher Toll.
All four goals game from headers with John Flanagan and Jack Frohawk providing the ammunition from either flank.
Gray headed home a Frohawk centre to cancel out Jamie Bennett's opener for the visitors and on the stroke of half-time it was Flanagan who provided the cross for the young forward to score his second.
After the break, it was the turn of Toll to steal the show after coming to replace Gray up front.
Flanagan, who could have had a hatful of goals himself, pull the ball on the plate for Toll's first goal of the afternoon before Frohawk did likewise from the opposite side.
Perhaps the only surprise is that Heacham - missing the services of forward Nathan Davies - didn't score even more after missing a catalogue of chances in either half.
Midfielder Alex Clunan, who was excellent, struck the woodwork while Royce Rawlings hit the post after the ever-reliable Kieran Shipp had headed Frohawk's corner into his path.
Magpies goalkeeper Aaron Watson also made a couple of excellent saves at crucial times of the game.
