Downham Town lost at Walthamstow, Fakenham suffer defeat against Ely City and Heacham are beaten at Mulbarton Wanderers
It was a bad day for West Norfolk's senior footballing sides, with Downham Town, Fakenham Town and Heacham all suffering defeat this afternoon.
In the Isthmian League North, Downham Town went down 2-1 at Walthamstow, while Heacham lost by the same scoreline to Mulbarton Wanderers in the Thurlow Nunn Premier Division and Fakenham Town were 2-0 losers at Ely City.
After a delayed kick-off of more than an hour due to a closure on the M11, Charlie Royle gave Downham the lead in the 27th minute, but Joe Ellul levelled the scores four minutes before the break.
An own goal settled the game in Walthamstow's favour with 11 minutes left on the clock.
The Ghosts suffered their second defeat in three games with a 2-0 reverse against the Robins.
The Robins dominated large amounts of the game with Tom Stoker’s double and some excellent defending securing the three points for the Cambridgeshire hosts.
Fakenham slip down two places to fourth in the league standings.
Owen Lane and Ryan Crisp were on target for Mulbarton Wanderers while Callum Robinson replied for Paul Hunt's side.
On Tuesday night, the Magpies are back in action when they host Yarmouth Town in the Norfolk Senior Cup.
