They produced a fabulous hour of rugby. Thanks go to North Walsham who brought some star players along to join forces with West Norfolk Girls.

The scoring was opened by Jasmine Furby who made an impressive run down the wing.

West Norfolk followed with a further four tries scored by Tia Barret, Jessica Milnes and Lydia Cass, while Lauren Leone did a good job with the conversions.

Jessica Milnes hammered through the Crusaders defence to score a further three tries throughout the game while Aliyah Featherby, whose tackling was second to none on a warm Sunday, afternoon was also on the scoresheet.

The final score favoured West Norfolk but the game was mesmerising from the start to finish.

The girls have had little match play over the past 12 months and, although some players were making their debuts, the rugby they played and the atmosphere they created at the club was electric.

The enjoyment of these young players was obvious as West Norfolk under-13 girls met Crusaders team.

This was the first-ever match played by many of the West team and the young ladies didn’t let the occasion intimidate them.

Although Crusaders dominated the game, determination and camaraderie were apparent on both sides.

West Norfolk fought hard, particularly in the second quarter.

First-time captain Niamh Goodson claimed the first try for West with a fantastic sprint through Crusaders back line.

Chloe added a further try while there was fantastic pace and effort from Eva Kallabind who twice managed to break through the Crusaders tight defence.
