Good crowd watches captains start year in office
The February heatwave set the tone for a very well-attended captains drive-in at Lynn Golf Club last week.
A good crowd turned out to watch junior captain Polly Norman, ladies captain Anita Goddard and club captain Nigel Chettleburgh tee-off to start their new year of office.
The trio of Sally Bettinson (ladies), Tom Davis (junior) and Neil Jary (club captain) were the departing captains from 2018.
The winners of the competition on the day were Rosie Russell and Jess Russell with a fantastic score of 43 points.
A fun day was had by all and the money raised for the combined captains' charity of Tapping House raised in excess of £570.
Both Nigel Chettleburgh and Anita Goddard thank all the members and staff who helped make the day go so smoothly.
They would also like to thank everybody who has taken the time to wish them good luck in their new positions for the coming year.
Meanwhile, Lynn Golf Club member Gary Hillier shot a hole-in-one at the Pro’s Saturday Stableford last weekend.
Hillier achieved his ace on the par-three, 16th hole and celebrated in the customary manner, by sharing a bottle with fellow members in the ‘19th hole’ of the clubhouse.
The hole-in-one prize is kindly sponsored by local businessman, Mr Jeremy Allen.
