King's Lynn Golf Club charity day in aid of Norfolk Hospice, Tapping House attracts Riyadh GC, Saudi Arabia entrant

Lynn Golf Club captains Nigel Chettleburgh and Anita Goddard held their charity day with proceeds going to West Norfolk charity The Norfolk Hospice, Tapping House.

More than 120 players took part with members from Lynn and 25 other clubs.

The furthest afield happened to be Mark Day who plays at Riyadh GC, Saudi Arabia, who had arranged his visit home so that he could play in the event.

Perfect playing conditions, refreshments at the halfway house and play followed by a two-course meal all made for a great atmosphere, both inside and outside the clubhouse.

Lindsay Atkins, from the Hospice, briefly told the players how their generosity would be used to help the Hospice.

Chettleburgh thanked all the members for who gave up their time to help and, following an auction and presentation of prizes, the captains were able to announce that in excess of £8,000 had been raised.
