With an imposing total to chase down, Thornham couldn’t have had a worse start to their innings, losing three wickets in the opening over to Bharathi Krishnan – the third a superb catch by James Allitt.

Ben Harris and Jacob Hewson steadied the ship to score 20 runs and 46 not out respectively, but it wasn’t to be Thornham’s day as they fell to 101 runs for 8 wickets.

Bharathi Krishnan was the pick of the bowlers with four wickets for only nine runs.

Reflecting on the match, Grimston skipper Andrew Tilbrook was pleased with his team’s performance, saying: "When Mark is in form he’s unplayable, and he has gone out there tonight and shown how quickly he can score.

"Bharathi also bowled superbly, this was a strong Grimston team and we can be a match for anyone on our day.”
