Heacham win takes Magpies joint top of Thurlow Nunn First Division North

Heacham forward Fletcher Toll's stock continues to rise as the Magpies moved joint top of Thurlow Nunn First Division North.

Toll's first half goal earned the Magpies a 1-0 victory over Norwich CBS on Tuesday night to leave them joint top of the table alongside Cornard United and Framlingham Town with 15 points from seven games.

The youngster has taken to Step 6 football like a duck to water after breaking into the first team on a regular basis since the club secured promotion from the Anglian Combination Premier Division.

Griggs said: “A great three points tonight, the lads had to battle every single minute for it. The clean sheet is testimony to the shift they put in. Young Fletcher took his chance brilliantly.

Having Frowy (Jack Frohawk), Shippy (Kieran Shipp), Clunan (Alex Clunan) and Rawlo (Royce Rawlings) all returning to the squad last night was a big bonus for us.

"Alex Clunan was outstanding and now we fully focus on Saturday when we welcome Diss Town.

"There is no point going away midweek and winning if we don’t now pick up six points from our next two home games.

"As always, many thanks to the travelling Magpies support this evening, and I hope to see as many of you as possible this Saturday."

It was confirmed after the game that retired defender Ed Tann, who has played a pivotal part in the club's recent success on the pitch, has joined the club's management team.

On Saturday, Heacham welcome Diss Town, who they knocked out of the League Cup recently, to Heacham Sports Field.

Elsewhere, Downham Town entertain Needham Under-23s at the SCL Memorial Field while Swaffham Town travel to Holbeach United.

In the Thurlow Nunn Premier Division on Tuesday night, former Linnet Cameron King was the scourge of Fakenham Town as Thetford Town thrashed the Ghosts 7-1.

Playmaker King was on target twice for the hosts while Daniel Hogston replied for the Ghosts who will be hoping to bounce back at home to Norwich United on Saturday.
