Heacham win top-of-the-table clash at Framlingham to go five points clear in Thurlow Nunn First Division North

Heacham boosted their promotion chances as they came from behind to beat ten-man Framlingham in their top-of-the table clash in Suffolk.

The victory leaves the Magpies five points clear at the top of the Thurlow Nunn First Division North standings, although the second-placed Castlemen do have three games in hand.

Max Willett gave the home side the lead before Simon Poacher was sent-off for bringing down John Flanagan when he was the last man through on goal.

The resulting Lewis Gibson free-kick went close to producing an equaliser as the teams went into the break.

After the interval, the recently-injured Nathan Davies climbed off the bench to equalise before Flanagan scored the winner to send the travelling Magpies supporters into ecstasy.

The win also avenged the 1-0 loss against the Castlemen on the opening day of the new season – a game Heacham also dominated.

Magpies boss David Griggs said: "We're over the moon and we knew that they were there for the taking in the second half.

"Other results also went our way now we have to make sure we go over to Parson Drove next week and win otherwise all the good work today is forgotten quickly.

"Thanks to those that travelled over to support us at Framlingham."

Elsewhere, Josh Malin was on target with a lovely left-footed volley edge from the edge of the box as Swaffham Town shared the spoils at Diss Town with a 1-1 draw.

In the Premier Division, Fakenham Town had Ash Jarvis to thank as they moved towards a mid-table position in the Premier Division.

Jarvis was on target with a hat-trick as the Ghosts completed a 3-0 victory over Walsham le Willows at the Daly Group Stadium.
