Heacham are the history-makers as club complete seventh successive promotion up to Thurlow Nunn League
History-making Heacham Football Club will be playing their football in the Thurlow Nunn League next season.
The Magpies clinched a seventh successive promotion with a 5-0 victory over Norwich CEYMS on Saturday.
It completes a dramatic rise from Division One of the North West Norfolk League up to the old Eastern Counties League in less than a decade – and the club's latest success was wrapped up with six games left to play.
Assistant manager Ross McNeil said: "It's a massive achievement by the football club as no other club in the area has ever won this league before.
"The promotion has been based on hard work and togetherness from everyone involved at the club and once again it shows that there is no substitution for hard work.
"Before the game we told the players to go out and make everyone proud of them and they certainly did that.
"The supporters, sponsors and everyone behind the scenes were our extra motivation. We did it for them and it was fantastic to complete the job in front of our own fans."
Heacham turned on the style in front of their highest attendance of the season with goals from Nathan Davies (2), Connor Young, John Flanagan and a screamer from Ben Coe.
The club are planning a huge promotion party when they welcome Beccles Town to Station Road for the final game of the season on April 23.
Heacham pass on their thanks to matchday sponsor Pat White, matchball sponsor John and Christine Abbott and matchday mascots Heacham Under-8s.
The club should be proud of their achievement, from the chairman, supporters club, management, players, fans, youth teams, sponsors all the way down to the backroom staff.
