League Cup final

Woodmans Cottage 0 England’s Hope 3

England’s Hope clinched victory in the latest instalment of a final which they first won back in 2004.

Played on a carpet of a surface at Heacham Football Club, history did manage to repeat itself with a brace from Dale Parnell and a strike from Ben Fenn ensuring Hope emerged 3-0 victors over their resilient opponents.

Woodmans started like a monster possessed and dominated early proceedings with a fast-tempo, high-pressing game.

But they fell behind against the run of play when a deflected effort gave Hope the lead to take the sting out of their opponents.

Both teams huffed and puffed without either keeper being troubled until Hope extended their lead midway through the second half.

Hope completed the scoring late on with a Howitzer of a strike finding the back of the net off the wet surface.

Woodmans were certainly not three goals worse off, but Hope’s quality in the middle of the park really shone through.

Congratulations to both teams for making the final and, of course, extra congratulations to Hope for winning it.
