Hobbs is too hot to handle as West Norfolk beat Fakenham
West Norfolk U14s were convincing 52-7 winners against Fakenham in perfect conditions.
Fakenham as expected were on the front foot taking the game to the home side but an instinctive poacher steal from Ben Taylor-Bunting bagged the first try, also converting for a 7-0 lead.
A scrum deep in the Fakenham half paved the way for Theo Hobbs to break through and score.
The game was being heavily contested between the forwards and West Norfolk's players had to be patient for a chance to get the ball out which eventually saw Ethan Killian grab a try for Taylor-Bunting to convert.
The second half was opened up with another commanding run from Hobbs cleaning up from a scrum.
Fakenham showed great spirit and strength battling the formidable front row of West Norfolk, but Jack Godfrey-Leggety ripped the ball and deservingly snatched a try for teammate Charlie Cooper to convert.
With just 10 minutes remaining of another well-fought derby Fakenham scored a fantastic 100-yard sprint to the try line, sealed with a conversion.
West regrouped and looked to play out the match finishing stronger led by Hobbs who got his hat-trick which was converted by Killian.
This was followed by a brace in quick succession by Kody Somerton which were both gratefully converted by Taylor-Bunting.
