Lynn and Hunstanton players help continue winning momentum

Six pupils from West Norfolk have helped Wisbech Grammar School’s hockey team continue their recent good form on the pitch.

Following on from the team’s success at the eastern regional finals earlier this month, where they finished second, James Kerry, Sam Landles, Sam Phillips, Shen Wei Lim and Harry Fox, from Lynn, and Hunstanton’s Joseph Reed, were part of the team which triumphed 3-2 over Gresham’s.

The Wisbech team were in dominant mood from the start of the game, forcing Gresham’s to defend in their own half.

A Frazer Brown goal was soon cancelled out by Gresham’s before Landles converted a slip pass from Matt Goodley following the award of a short corner.

Goodley put the game to bed following a penalty corner in the second half, which he struck into the net to give Wisbech a 3-1 advantage, before Gresham’s added a second to set up a tense final few minutes.
