King's Lynn rider hoping for grippy track in KO Cup home leg final against Sheffield Tigers

King’s Lynn rider Richie Worrall hopes the Adrian Flux Arena track for Monday’s long-delayed League Cup Final first leg against Sheffield will be similar to as it was when the Stars last rode.

To lift the cup after the two legs, Lynn must accomplish what they have failed to do so far this year and beat Sheffield – the Tigers have triumphed in all four Premiership league clashes in 2022.

Referring to Lynn’s last outing, Premiership home 63-27 victory over Wolverhampton, Worrall said: “Hopefully the track will be the same.

“The track was grippy which is more suited to me. It’s been like that twice this season, once when I was down at reserve.

“Hopefully we can have a track like that.”

“Everyone in the stadium looks forward to a final and the atmosphere is different in the pits.

“I love that and it brings everyone together closer, and that’s good.

“I know Sheffield have beaten us four times but give us a track like that, and I think we can do them, I do.

“We were strong at their place and we nearly took a (losing away bonus) point from it.”

On his own improved form, the 31-year-old added: “It’s the confidence thing, isn’t it?”

The deciding away leg is on Thursday, October 20.
