Double delight for banger racing fans at Lynn's Adrian Flux Arena

A huge weekend of short oval motorsport takes place at Lynn’s Adrian Flux Arena over Easter with two big meetings taking place.

The unlimited bangers, 2L stock cars and 1300 stock cars are all in action on Saturday (5.30pm) before the annual Wacky Races take place on Easter Monday (1pm) featuring the 4x4 SUV bangers, Siamese bangers, micro bangers and Reliant Robins.

Lynn’s Kieran Bowman – the defending Entertainer League champion – will be racing every single national banger formula in action over the weekend.

Bowman will take to the track for the unlimited bangers tomorrow before turning his attentions to the 4x4 SUV bangers, Siamese bangers and micro Bangers on Monday.

Joining Bowman in the unlimited bangers will be current national points leader Callum Gill.

Gill has had a great start to his 2019 campaign with good places in virtually every race he has competed in.

The main event for the unlimited bangers is the East Anglian Championship – an event which was first contested back in 1991 – and Gill is one of four previous champions who will be trying to regain the title having won the race back in 2016.

The 2009 champion Davey Cox is another who will be looking to regain the title and other West Norfolk drivers in action include Darren Fendley and Ross Cooper.

Tomorrow also sees the 2L stock cars in action where the entry includes local drivers Lee Sampson, Jake Banwell and Austin Freestone.

The experienced Sampson has already taken a race win at Lynn this season and will be looking to get another on the board. Following a few years out with a back injury, Jake Banwell has been getting steadily quicker and more confident while Austin is continuing to get to grips with the formula.

Monday’s highlight will be the annual appearance of the 4x4 SUV bangers and the Siamese bangers.

Joining Bowman in the 4x4 bangers will be the always-entertaining Lewis Godfrey.

Bowman will be teaming up with fellow Predator Robert Betts in the Siamese bangers, in a repeat of last year’s event, which saw the pair get to grips with the concept well as they took a heat win.

As well as Bowman in the micro bangers, Callum Gill, Ashley Garrod, Wesley Freestone and Ryley Freestone will also be in action.
