King’s Lynn reserve Lewis Kerr has been declared fit to ride on Good Friday at Lakeside as the Roger Warnes Transport Stars aim to do a quick double over the Hammers.
The Stars shot to the top of the Elite League table on Tuesday night following a convincing 58-34 win over Lakeside in front of the Sky Sports cameras (see page 126). Robert Lambert impressed with a 16+2 point haul with the rest of the team also performing well.
The win did come at a cost, with Kerr withdrawn from the meeting along with Nicklas Porsing who has been ruled out for the next seven days. But Kerr has now been declared fit, subject to SCB approval, after being reassessed on Wednesday morning.
Experienced racer and former Star Kevin Doolan will step into the Stars team today as a replacement for the injured Porsing.
Stand-in team manager Dale Allitt said: “We are very pleased to see that Lewis is okay and is able to ride on Friday.
“The doctor came to the stadium this morning and gave him a full medical before declaring he could ride.
“Unfortunately we will be without Nicklas; he needs more time on the sidelines and we want him to come back when he is fit enough to race.
“Kevin Doolan comes into the side and I believe he can do a good job for us, he knows the club and the riders so he will fit in well.
“I want the boys to carry on the great work that we did on Tuesday night and put more points on the board at this early stage.”
