KES Academy praises West Norfolk sponsors and fundraisers

There are a few weeks left until local cricketers from Lynn’s KES Academy and four other West Norfolk Schools jet off to their Barbados tour.

Therefore a photo shoot was arranged to capture the fantastic efforts from all the fundraising team and kind sponsors.

Mr Ross McNeil, tour operations manager, would like to thank Ian Ward for his expertise and help with the pictures. The squad has four games, in preparation for the tour, against Sandringham CC, Eastbourne College, North Runcton CC and then a Lads v Dads game.

Mr McNeil said: “We started the fundraising journey, nearly three years ago, and set ourselves an aspirational target of £5,000.

“We have smashed this target and because of all the team’s hard work and very supportive parents/friends, which meant we could invest in more top quality tour kit and fantastic embroidery, more cricket games when we are in Barbados, coach transfers and an extra excursion, possibly, when we are in Barbados.

“I would like to thank all our kind sponsors and companies, who have made generous donations or donated raffle prizes.

“In a time when society seems full of doom and gloom, it’s heart warming to know we have had such kind support from a variety of different businesses and people in King’s Lynn & West Norfolk. My words to you would be ‘Thank you, for making a difference to these lads. You’re amazing and you must be proud of your kindness and generosity, to the local community’.

“Also, I would like to thank the parents and friends who have supported the extensive range of fundraising events, which included, a quiz, a race night, a dinner evening with James Tredwell, bingo, and some cricket games!”
