King's Lynn-based King Edward VII Academy sides shine on the hockey pitch
Congratulations to the two teams from King Edward VII Academy who have competed at various levels of local hockey.
The under-16 girls’ squad have played two closely-contested friendly matches against Gresham’s School Holt as well as competing in the Norfolk Hockey T4 tournament hosted at Dereham.
Closer to home, West Norfolk League matches are in full flow with a win against The Nicholas Hamond Academy and a loss against Marshland HS.
The under-14 girls’ squad have also competed in the Norfolk Hockey T4 tournament hosted at Cromer Academy and have had friendly fixtures against Glebe House School.
Their league fixtures will begin in earnest after xmas.
Boys’ hockey is also on the rise at KES with friendly fixtures against Greshams and Glebe on the horizon as well as a county tournament in February.
The mixed teams have experienced success with a third and fourth place in the Norfolk Hockey emerging schools tournament in October.
The recent successes are largely down to the great school/club link forged between KES and Pelicans Hockey Club, where many of the squads club players come from.
