The King’s Lynn Roger Warnes Transport Stars trip to Swindon’s Abbey Stadium on Thursday night ended in a 53-39 defeat.
With both sides chasing a place in the end of season play-offs, league points for the Stars would have moved them closer to securing a place in the top four.
Lynn suffered from a poor start and soon found themselves four points behind in the opening stages of the meeting.
The Stars’ poor run of form continued as the hosts pulled out a 16-point lead with three consecutive race advantages.
Stars boss Rob Lyon attempted to claw back the deficit by putting Kenneth Bjerre out for double points in Heat 9, but a second place from the Dane behind Aaron Summers with reserve Ashley Morris finishing third didn’t make a dent in the home side’s lead.
The Stars followed their race advantage up with another in Heat 10 as Nicklas Porsing took victory, but the home side hit straight back to restored their 12-point lead, which they held onto through the remainder of the meeting.
Swindon Robins: Grzegorz Zengota 12+1, Darcy Ward 10+1, Aaron Summers 9+1, Charles Wright 9, Nick Morris 7+1, Troy Batchelor 6+2, Darryl Ritchings 0.
King’s Lynn Stars: Niels-Kristian Iversen 9, Ashley Morris 6+3, Nicklas Porsing 6, Kenneth Bjerre 6, Dakota North 5, Freddie Lindgren 4, James Sarjeant 3.
