The King’s Lynn Stebbings Car Superstore Young Stars returned from their clash with Cradley empty handed following a 58-35 defeat on Wednesday night.

Missing two of their top five, Jake Knight and Shane Hazelden, the Young Stars made a poor start to the meeting and were eight points down after just four races. At the halfway stage, the home side had double their lead to 16 points.

That allowed the Young Stars to use a tactical ride with guest Darryl Ritchings. He won the heat with Josh Bailey finishing second to claim an 8-1 for the Young Stars, but that was their only heat advantage of the meeting. In the second half, the home side dominated as the Young Stars slipped further behind the hosts.

Cradley Heathens: Matt Williamson 17+1, Max Clegg 13+2, Arron Mogridge 11+1, Ellis Perks 10, Michael Neale 5+2, Luke Harris 2+1, Nathan Greaves R/R.

King’s Lynn Young Stars: Josh Bailey 11+2, Darryl Ritchings 11+1, Tom Stokes 6, Scott Campos 3+1, Ryan Kinsley 3, Layne Cupitt 1, Shane Hazelden R/R.
