Dale Allitt’s King’s Lynn Young Stars picked up maximum points at the Adrian Flux Arena on Wednesday night with a 57-33 victory over local rivals Mildenhall.
Guest Kyle Hughes led the Stebbings Car Superstore Young Stars with an impressive 12-point haul from the number one position, but it was reserve Layne Cupitt who stole the show with an almost perfect 10+1 total.
Cupitt also picked up the Tile Giant rider of the night award for his efforts.
The Young Stars made a solid start to the meeting with a four point advantage after the opening three races. Following a heavy rain shower in Heat 6, the Young Stars went on to extend their lead with three consecutive 5-1’s followed by a 4-2 in Heat 10 to open up an 18-point advantage over the visiting Fen Tigers.
Allitt’s men closed out the meeting with further advantages in Heats 13 and 14 to seal a great win and move up the National League table.
After the meeting, Allitt said: “That was a great performance from the team, and a excellent win. The rain made conditions tricky, but our guys didn’t let it faze them and that won us the meeting.
“Tonight was a big step forward for Layne. I am pleased for him and I hope he can now push on and continue his development.”
