King's Lynn Stars skipper Lambert eyes bank holiday return
King's Lynn are hopeful inspirational speedway skipper Robert Lambert will return on Bank Holiday Monday - his first Stars outing in a month.
As his team-mates prepared for tonight's crucial Premiership meeting with Belle Vue at the Norfolk Arena, officials revealed they're optimistic of having their lead rider back on the start line in a few days' time.
The Norfolk-born Grand Prix rider hopes to ride for Lublin in Poland tomorrow (Friday 22) and in Saturday’s GP Challenge.
If he comes through those meetings, he will then make his Stars return for the side's return fixture in the north-west.
Co-promoter Dale Allitt said: “We hope to have Robert back at Belle Vue on Monday afternoon.”
Lambert is recovering from back injuries and last rode for the Poultec Stars on July 25.
