Young defender agreeds to extend his stay with King's Lynn Town




Promising defender Owen Gilbert, 16, has pledged his future to King's Lynn Town by agreeing an 18-month deal at The Walks.

The teenager has twice featured for the first team in the City Security Services Limited League Challenge Cup and was part of the under-18 side that reached the First Round Proper of the FA Youth Cup.

With the youngster turning in a string of fine performances, the Linnets felt compelled to lock the starlet into a deal.

Director of football Robbie Back said: "Owen has performed really well for the club since his arrival and he is very much one for the future.

"He’s certainly got all the attributes to go on and be a very good defender and he can only get better.

"We feel he has done more than enough to earn a deal with the club and we are delighted that he has agreed to extend his stay with us."

The Guyhirn-based player, who was released from the Peterborough United Academy over the summer, has made 12 starts for the Lynn Reserves in Division One North of the Thurlow Nunn League.
